Sizing:

For people who are new to cycling, the most important thing is to get a bike that fits you properly. Correct sizing is vital to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable ride.
If your bike is too big, you will be stretching too far, which may result in pain and injury and this can easily turn you off cycling.
On the other hand, if your bike is too small for you, then you are crunched up, uncomfortable, and will tire easily, and again you may be prone to injury or pain.

What type of Bike?

There are three main types of bike:

Road — racers and flat bar racers (flat bars means just that; the handlebars are flat and not looped down).

Mountain — road — basic mountain bike.
              — off–road — for use on trails and paths in the woods and forests.
              — hard–tail — This has a front suspension (there's a bit of ’give’ on the front of the bike to absorb the shock of bumps).
              — dual suspension — This has suspension on both front and rear wheels (it's comfier!).

Hybrids — these are a cross between a road and a mountain bike.

What type do I need?

You need to decide what it is you wish to do with your bike. Do you intend to cycle every day, every other day, or once a week even? Do you want to push yourself to the limit every time or would you like a nice leisurely spin on a sunny Sunday? Think about it, and Denis will gladly talk you through your options.

In short, racers are designed for speed, cover more miles with ease but less comfort than a mountain bike or hybrid.
Mountain bikes offer great comfort with slower speed
Hybrids give a combination of both comfort and speed.
