| Bike ’n’ Beara - For all your cycling needs |
||
| Links | A bit about Denis Denis O'Donovan is an ’adopted’ Beara man, having moved here from his native Bantry in 1993. He has been involved with bicycles since his early youth, training with Kramer’s in Bantry initially, and then moving to SuperValu in Castletownbere where he continued keeping Beara on two wheels. For a number of years Denis operated from his kitchen in Eyeries before finally taking the plunge and opening Bike 'n' Beara at Castletownbere Retail Park. Denis is married and has two children. The business is very much a family run one with Mrs. O’D. taking control of the books and ’behind the scenes’ organising, while Denis has the expertise and practical knowledge to get the work done. Their son helps in the shop on Saturdays with pricing and shelf stocking. Their new daughter is too young to help yet!! Denis is very community oriented and gladly offers his time and assistance to a number of fundraising cycles that take place on the peninsula. In 2009, Bike 'n' Beara took first place in the business section of the local St. Patrick's Day parade for their amusing float. ***NEWSFLASH*** The Bike ’n’ Beara float won first prize AGAIN this St. Patrick’s day. (17th March 2010) Denis has a dream… he'd love to see all of Beara on bikes, cycling to greater fitness and health… |
